The surgical spark
Dr Bertrand Perrin, a cardiac surgeon, makes an unequivocal clinical observation: surgical adhesives are disappointing because their adhesion to biological tissue is very weak. A conviction takes hold: surgery needs a surgical adhesive!

Intuition becomes scientific breakthrough
For effective bonding, a surgical adhesive must anchor into biological tissue — Birth of the AnCor® concept. A science thesis at the University of Lausanne and collaboration with polymer chemistry laboratories in Bordeaux, Pau and Mulhouse lay the scientific foundations.

AnCor® is ready to deploy
First field validations. AnCor® moves from lab to industrialisation. Scaling up: new partners, team restructuring, fundraising rounds. The technology is ready to deploy.

Signed with a major international OTC player
The first product derived from AnCor® is an OTC product that will be sold from 2026 in the United States and from 2028 in Europe and Asia. COHESIVES has signed an exclusive patent licence for AnCor® technology with a major player in the international OTC market.

i-Nov Innovation Competition Winner — France 2030
COHESIVES is a winner of the 9th wave of the i-Nov competition run by Bpifrance, a label of national excellence that rewards the most promising projects in health, deeptech and industrial sovereignty. 1M EUR in funding awarded for the development of two AnCor® applications: cutaneous surgical suture and internal suture sealing.
RAPID Award — Ministry of Armed Forces (DGA)
The Directorate General of Armaments funds COHESIVES with 500k EUR (RAPID scheme) to adapt AnCor® for military contexts: emergency interventions, burn treatment, war injuries, and field medicine scenarios. This support validates the clinical and operational versatility of our technology.
